These are some my early “Travel” or “Scenic” Images

"Early Travel and Scenic Imagery"

In 1957, at age eighteen, I graduated from High School, and left on my own for Europe. I had to goals: to climb the Matterhorn, and to take photographs as I travels about in England, France, Switzerland, and Italy.

In those days I had a Kodak camera (can’t remember the model), and I shot with Kodak Kodachrome 32 film. I also had a small collapsing tripod, and a self-timer device. The concept for what I shot, and how I did it, was the images I had seen and studies in the pages of National Geographic magazine.

These are some of the images from my summer abroad. Notice the relatibe absence of people in some of the images. The tourist boom had yet to come to Europe.
